Beauty Behind The Madness is The Weeknd's second studio album, released in August 2015 on XO and Republic. It debuted at number one in the US and turned Abel Tesfaye from a cult R&B figure into a global pop star, with Can't Feel My Face and The Hills both reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album keeps the dark, hedonistic mood of his earlier mixtapes but adds bigger pop production. Can't Feel My Face channels Michael Jackson-style disco-pop, The Hills and Often are moody and bass-heavy, and Earned It, from the Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack, is a sweeping slow jam. Guests include Labrinth on Losers, Ed Sheeran on Dark Times and Lana Del Rey on Prisoner.
