Robert Johnson – King Of The Delta Blues Singers | 2020 LP Reissue, Turquoise Vinyl (New, Sealed)

King Of The Delta Blues Singers collects 16 recordings Robert Johnson made in Texas in 1936 and 1937. Johnson died in 1938, and when Columbia issued this compilation in 1961 his music reached a new generation, helping to spark the blues revival of the 1960s.

Accompanied only by his own guitar, Johnson combines intricate slide and fingerpicked playing with an urgent, haunted voice. Cross Roads Blues, Hell Hound On My Trail, Me And The Devil Blues and Come On In My Kitchen became cornerstones of the blues, and the album had a deep influence on British and American rock musicians who went on to record many of these songs.
