David Bowie – Hunky Dory | 2016 LP, 180g Remaster (New, Sealed)
David Bowie – Hunky Dory | 2016 LP, 180g Remaster (New, Sealed)
Hunky Dory, released in December 1971, was David Bowie's fourth album and the record where his songwriting came fully into focus. Co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott, with Mick Ronson's guitar and arrangements and Rick Wakeman on piano, it runs from the stuttering pop of Changes to the cinematic sweep of Life On Mars?.
The album moves between piano-led pop, folk rock and early glam, with affectionate portraits of Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan and the Velvet Underground in Andy Warhol, Song For Bob Dylan and Queen Bitch, before closing on the haunting The Bewlay Brothers. It was not a big seller at first, but it has become one of his best-loved records.
