Crosby, Stills & Nash – Crosby, Stills & Nash | US LP Reissue, 180g, R1 8229 (New, Sealed)

Released in May 1969 on Atlantic, Crosby, Stills & Nash was the debut of a new trio formed from three established bands: David Crosby from the Byrds, Stephen Stills from Buffalo Springfield and Graham Nash from the Hollies. Their close, ringing three-part harmonies became the album's signature and set a template for the Laurel Canyon sound that followed.

The record opens with the multi-part Suite: Judy Blue Eyes and moves through the breezy pop of Marrakesh Express, the delicate Guinnevere and Helplessly Hoping, and the darker, guitar-driven Wooden Ships and Long Time Gone. Stills played much of the instrumentation himself, giving the album a warm, intimate folk-rock feel that still sounds fresh.
