A sprawling double album, it debuted at number one in the US, and both Hypnotize and Mo Money Mo Problems went on to top the Billboard Hot 100.

Where Ready To Die was raw and claustrophobic, Life After Death is bigger and glossier, moving between polished, sample-driven party records and hard-edged street storytelling. Guests include Jay-Z on I Love The Dough and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony on Notorious Thugs, while tracks such as Kick In The Door, Ten Crack Commandments and Long Kiss Goodnight show Biggie's narrative control and dry wit at full strength.

About this edition

This listing is for the 25th anniversary triple LP edition on Bad Boy Entertainment, catalogue number RCV1 541302, barcode 603497841820.
