Johnny Rotten's sneering vocals ride over Steve Jones' thick, overdubbed guitars and Paul Cook's driving drums, and producer Chris Thomas gave it a punchy, full sound that set it apart from many rougher punk records of the time.

The album gathers the singles Anarchy In The U.K., God Save The Queen, Pretty Vacant and Holidays In The Sun alongside Bodies, Problems and the label-baiting EMI. It went to number one in the UK despite the controversy over its title, and its mix of fury, humour and big hooks still sounds sharp today.

About this edition

This listing is for the Universal Music reissue on 180-gram black vinyl, catalogue number SexPisLP77, barcode 602537795635.
