Their close, ringing three-part harmonies became the album's signature and set a template for the Laurel Canyon sound that followed.

The record opens with the multi-part Suite: Judy Blue Eyes and moves through the breezy pop of Marrakesh Express, the delicate Guinnevere and Helplessly Hoping, and the darker, guitar-driven Wooden Ships and Long Time Gone. Stills played much of the instrumentation himself, giving the album a warm, intimate folk-rock feel that still sounds fresh.

About this edition

This listing is for the Atlantic US reissue on 180-gram vinyl, catalogue number R1 8229, barcode 081227986681.
